Placing Justice Roundup

Jeannette Tossounian displays her art based on her carceral experiences

It was an amazing three days of featured speakers, papers, thematic sessions, artistic exhibitions, conversations, and karaoke at Placing Justice! Thanks to our presenters, exhibitors, session chairs, volunteers, students and attendees! It is safe to say that justice has been successfully put in its place! A special thank you to our undergraduate student volunteers, Janet Turner, the UW Criminal Justice Department and to the CIJS and Critical Perspectives organizing committees - it takes a village and no one person can carry the weight of organizing a conference this large and diverse. We would also like to acknowledge our participants who traveled from as far away as Ghana to be part of this intellectual exchange. Thank you one and all.

Don't forget to submit your work to the Annual Review of Interdisciplinary Justice Research (IJR). The theme of Volume 6 (Fall 2016) is place, space and justice. Submissions are due August 1, 2016. See our website for more information: http://www.cijs.ca
